BMC Racemaster SLX01 Review
Released in 2010 the BMC Racemaster SLX01 instantly impressed the cycling world. Its beautiful design, technologically advanced components and fantastic frame design meant it quickly developed a reputation for being one the best aluminium and carbon combination bikes ever produced by this fantastic manufacturer.
With the frame created using a pioneering carbon unidirectional arch and alloy trident combination, riders will benefit from the lightness of the carbon and the strength of the aluminium. This fantastic unification of aluminium and carbon in the Racemaster SLX01 frame has created one of the best racing frames available, its rigidity, strength and lightness ensures that every piece of power produced by the riders is effectively transferred to the road. The full carbon straightedge 048 SL front fork has been integrated into the frame offering riders a supreme level of handling.
The seatpost and Selle Italia SL team edition saddle has also been integrated into the Racemaster SLX01 frame offering riders a better level of comfort and performance, while the Scor MKII handlebars are ergonomically designed for a more comfortable fit.
The Racemaster SLX01 features Shimano’s leading groupset, the Ultegra. The Ultegra 6700 shifters, derailleurs with Braze-on feature, crankset and Shimano 205 cassette mean that the Racemaster SLX01 shifts smoothly and precise, meeting even the most demanding cyclist’s high standards. The rear and front Shimano Ultegra 6700 brakes perform perfectly, offering reliable braking in all weather conditions. Fitted with high-quality Euston EA 70 wheels, the Racemaster SLX01 possesses every component a rider will ever need to win a race.
