Lapierre Sensium 100 2012 Review

Designed for maximum comfort on long distance rides, Lapierre’s Sensium even has an elastomer above its seatstays just for extra luxury. As the blurb says, it provides ‘just the right amount of vertical flex to keep you fresh for the entire ride.’

This is a big claim from the French manufacturer and we were not sure what to expect, but after thorough testing the elastomer does indeed provide an unexpected extra level of comfort. The Sensium performs well even on uphill stretches and can reach some decent speeds. The only problem we found was that the performance of the front end doesn’t quite match the performance of the back; it felt a little too light and disengaged. This is a big let down and likens the bike to the Ford Mondeos that used to veer left.
